MY “WHY”

Dried pink roses with brown leaves and stems against a futuristic colored background.

Wedding days are the ultimate culmination of life and love. They are the one day in your entire life where all of your favorite people are going to be in one place to celebrate you. This is why I love photographing weddings—because I love photographing life. And real life happens at weddings.

My work combines the artistry of editorial and candid photography, so that every frame becomes a work of art, your wedding gallery a collection of moments that not only tell the story of your wedding day as a whole, but of your unique love story.

MY APPROACH

  • I want you to look at your wedding photos and feel like they were captured by a loved one…

My job, of course, is to observe the space around me and capture your memories in a genuine and unobtrusive way. I love candids, I love photographing real moments as they are happening without my influence. I am always hunting for those in-between moments: the look your mother gives your father as they’re watching you two say your vows, or your best friends’ genuine reactions to seeing your dress for the first time, or the way your grandparents smile as they look at you and remember their own wedding.

But I am also here to serve you. I am the one person who will be with you guys for the entirety of your day, so it would be untruthful of me to say that you will never notice my presence. But I will always ensure that my presence is never demanding, obstructive, or unwelcome. My ultimate goal is for you and your partner to experience your day to its fullest extent. I want you to be present, have fun, and truly enjoy this time with your favorite people. And I know that if I truly want this for you guys, then I cannot and will not interrupt a moment because “the lighting is better over here,” or because the timeline might get 5 minutes off.

This is a day full of love and celebration, and the best way for me to capture this is to celebrate with you guys! I will get to know you, learn your story, hang out with your guests, chat with your best friends, and really just become a part of your day. Because I know that in order for my photos to reflect the truth of who you guys are and tell your story fully, then I have to become a part of your story myself.

This is what makes me more than just a photographer. This is why I call myself a documentarian.

In short, my job is to become one with the flow of your day and document the true heart of it.

“What about formal portraits?” Don’t worry, I’m here to help you out…

I feel extremely awkward in front of a camera, so I 100% understand how weird it can feel. This is why I’ve learned how to direct in a way that doesn’t feel posey or stiff!

Your wedding day is going to go by in a blur. So much is happening and there are so many people you want to see and talk to, that it’s easy to forget to take a moment with your partner to just breathe. Portrait time will potentially be the only alone time you both get on your wedding day, which is why I work to make this time less about photos and more about having quality time with one another.

And if you have a crazy family (like mine) who never listens, I gotchu. I will lead everyone through family photos so that they are done as quickly and painlessly as possible. All you’ll have to worry about is standing there and looking pretty ;)

And no awkward poses or spending hours on photos…

Getting those nice portraits on your wedding day is important, but no way will I take you guys away from your family and friends for 2+ hours just for portraits. You should be hanging with your loved ones or dancing your butt off! I am very passionate about you guys actually being at your wedding and enjoying each moment of your day to the fullest. I want you to be in the present, taking it all in, not worried about posing for a ton of photos. This is why I will organize portrait time with the least time possible needed.

  • I want your photos to feel like a memory…

All weddings are shot on 35mm + 120 film, as well as digital. My goal is to edit your photos in such a way that your gallery looks cohesive and artistic.

Natural editing with true-to-life tones. Film-like colors that emphasize the moment captured—not take away from it. All done with a touch of grain for that natural, vintage feel.

A mix of clean shots, blurry images, artistic moments, and black and white for a wedding gallery that will feel timeless, unique, and true to you.

A quote about love written in cursive. The quote says, 'Being a part of the LGBTQ community I believe that all love is love in every form. Know that no matter what, you are and who you love will always be celebrated.'

I am so inspired by genuine human connection and the stories that each couple shares. I call my style of photography documentary or photojournalistic because I aim to capture the authentic, in-between moments—the moments that you feel when you look back on your experience. The moments that jerk on your heartstrings, that make you feel like you’re watching a movie about your love.
